Our Story

of Infidelity and Healing

Like any other, our story has its mountain tops and its valleys. In this case, though, our deepest valley is what God has chosen to redeem and build into a ministry. We’ve struggled through sexual addiction, chronic infidelity, deep betrayal, and all the trauma that goes with it. Despite all that, our marriage has survived and healed as we continue on to new levels of friendship and intimacy.

It is our prayer that by sharing some of the details of our story, you will find hope and encouragement on your own journey. Infidelity and betrayal are some of the most difficult obstacles to overcome. In their wake we often feel so isolated and hopeless. We want to meet you right there and reassure you you’re not alone after all. We’ve walked this road and found victory. You can too!

Beyond all that, we want you to know that God is still there too. He has not failed you, even though it probably feels like He has. He didn’t do this, and His heart breaks with yours. He’s eager to comfort you and to offer you healing. We’ve experienced His miraculous work, and we pray that as you read through our story it will remind you of the love and power of the only Source of true healing and encourage you to run into His open arms.

May it all be for His infinite glory!

Posts Written as we Healed

This ministry started as a blog (on another site), written by Cherith to document our recovery and come alongside others on the same journey. Here, we’ve compiled some of the posts she wrote, starting in that first year after discovering the full extent of the betrayal. And mostly contained to those first two years of recovery. Some of these are a little raw, but they tell our story as it happened. They’re real.

We believe there is value in letting people see our ugly parts. It helps us understand that we’re not alone.

So here it is. Our story as it unfolded back in early 2017. Our final discovery day (the really big one) was a few days before Christmas 2016. We hope you will be encouraged as you see where we’ve come from and how incredibly God has worked.
